Good afternoon everyone, this is James back again just to throw some immediate feedback at you as we have just finished the Tonne Run. I think it is safe to say that everyone who took part hard a very nice morning together, no one was hurt, and (my opinion at very least) everyone really represented themselves well and came in with impressive times. If I remember correctly we had 17 competitors, not bad for a cold overcast morning following snowfall (great running weather though, seriously).
Congratulations to Gavin for winning the day in a time of 8:48 and a squat weight of 155 x 13 reps per set. Gavin's consistency in how he was able to maintain his desired pace through all sets of both exercises was very impressive. Apologies to Alison for loading her bar up 10 pounds heavy - I might have noticed if you didn't make it look so easy!! Alison breezed in at just over 9 minutes as well thanks to smooth sets of 20 squats and sprinting like an absolute demon to the finish.
I was also very impressed and made happy by so many people sticking around and clapping in the later heats after their runs and providing encouragement during the lifts. As one of the last people to exercise I certainly appreciated it. I think those who went first couldn't help but empathize with and cheer on those who followed.
Finally, Hero Points were earned by Lynn and Tracy for each coming in;
a) bright eyed and bushy tailed
b) not being 100% physically
c) taking this challenge as their first lift back from short necessary hiatus'
Awesome, congratulations, you've each won 100 Burpees!!
Thanks again everyone who attended, have fun to those trying this work out during the week, and see all of you again at the gym soon.
P.S. - Evan took a whole ton of pictures, check the blog and main site soon to see some mean Squat Faces and other highlights from the morning
